Candle Care & FAQ

πŸ•―οΈ Candle Care

How do I get the best burn from my candle?

For your first burn, allow the wax to melt all the way to the edges of the vessel before extinguishing β€” this usually takes 2–4 hours depending on candle size. This prevents "tunnelling" and ensures an even burn throughout the life of your candle. Never burn for more than 4 hours at a time.

How should I trim the wick?

Trim your wick to approximately 5 mm (ΒΌ inch) before every burn. A properly trimmed wick reduces soot, prevents mushrooming, and helps your candle burn cleanly and evenly. Use a wick trimmer or small scissors β€” always trim before relighting, not while the wax is hot.

Where should I place my candle?

Place your candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface away from drafts, open windows, and flammable materials (curtains, paper, bedding). Keep out of reach of children and pets. Never leave a burning candle unattended. Stop burning when approximately 1 cm (Β½ inch) of wax remains to protect the vessel and the surface below it.

Why does my soy candle look different from what I expected?

Natural soy wax can develop a frosted or uneven appearance over time β€” this is completely normal and does not affect scent throw or burn quality. Our candles are hand-poured in small batches, so slight variations in appearance are part of what makes each one unique.

How strong will the scent be?

Scent throw varies by room size, ventilation, and fragrance profile. For best results, burn your candle in a smaller, enclosed space first to appreciate the full scent. Our candles are designed to fragrance a room without being overwhelming β€” a warm, ambient scent rather than a sharp blast.

πŸ«™ Wax Melts (Wiick'd Melters)

Are your wax melts compatible with my wax warmer?

Our Wiick'd Melters are hand-poured 100% natural soy wax melts in a 6-cube clamshell format. They are compatible with standard electric wax warmers and tea-light warmers. We recommend electric warmers for more consistent, controlled heat. Always follow your warmer manufacturer's instructions.

How many cubes should I use at once?

Start with 1–2 cubes. You can always add more if you'd like a stronger scent. Avoid overfilling your warmer dish.

How do I clean my wax warmer?

Once the wax has hardened and cooled completely, pop it out or use the cotton ball method: place a cotton ball in the warm (not hot) liquid wax, let it absorb the wax, then lift it out and wipe the dish clean with a dry cloth or paper towel. Never pour liquid wax down the drain.

When should I change the wax?

Replace your wax melt when the scent has faded β€” the wax itself doesn't evaporate, only the fragrance does. If the wax is still there but scentless, it's time for a fresh cube.

🌿 Room & Linen Spray

How do I use the room and linen spray?

Our Wiick'd Room & Linen Sprays are made with perfumers alcohol and are suitable for refreshing rooms, bedding, curtains, and upholstery. Hold the bottle 20–30 cm away from the surface and mist lightly. Allow fabric to dry fully before contact with skin or light-coloured materials.

Is it safe to use on delicate fabrics?

We recommend testing on a small, inconspicuous area first before applying to delicate, dry-clean-only, or light-coloured fabrics. Do not spray directly onto silk, suede, leather, or unfinished wood.Β

Can I use the room spray around pets?

Use with caution around pets, particularly birds and cats, who can be sensitive to fragrances. Ensure the room is well-ventilated and allow the spray to dry fully before allowing pets back into the space.
